The effect of the number of meals on life expectancy.

This hypothesis that longevity depends on the number of meals, namely eating twice a day, has several arguments that can be used to support it:

1) Slower metabolism: Eating just two meals a day allows the body to work more efficiently and energy-efficiently. Numerous studies show that during prolonged periods of fasting, the body activates survival mechanisms that allow for increased longevity.

2) Diet and hormones: Controlled dietary patterns can positively affect hormones. There have been studies indicating a link between the number of meals and levels of hormones such as insulin and ghrelin. Eating a proper meal twice a day can help keep hormone levels stable, which helps slow down the aging process.

3) Gut Health: Intermittent fasting has positive effects on gut health. The intestine is one of the most important organs in the body, which ensures the normal absorption of nutrients and metabolic products, and also plays an important role in the immune system. A controlled meal twice a day can provide the gut with the opportunity to regenerate and repair itself, which can help prolong its healthy and efficient function.

4) Food Denial and Longevity: Many experiments with animals show that reducing the number of meals can help prolong life. In particular, it has been found that some species of animals, such as rodents, that restricted themselves from food lived significantly longer than their normally free-eating peers.

Despite these arguments, the hypothesis of the effect of the number of meals on longevity requires further research and testing in humans before definitive conclusions can be drawn.
